CHRIS BROGDON, PARTNER & FOUNDER
Chris Brogdon is a Co-Founder of the J. Christopher's concept and now serves as a Partner at J. Christopher's Restaurants, LLC, a collection of casual dining restaurants serving breakfast and lunch based in Atlanta, GA. The concept has 20 existing restaurants and will open seven more in 2008. The entity will build and operate company-owned restaurants, but the majority of its future growth will come through franchising.
Over the past 12 years, Brogdon, along with Co-Founder Jay McCann, have fine tuned the J. Christopher's brand by retaining dedicated management and staff, upgrading the menu, maintaining low costs and focusing on friendly service.
Brogdon has additionally taken part in many other founding and operating endeavors throughout his career in various fields. He co-founded Winter Haven Homes, Inc. in 1987. Winter Haven Homes, Inc. developed, owned and operated assisted living and nursing homes throughout the Southeastern United States. Winter Haven is primarily involved with owning and leasing the operations to third parties today.
From 1991 to 1998, Brogdon served as Chairman of the Board of Retirement Care Associates (RCA), a NYSE listed company that operated more than 120 assisted living and nursing home facilities. Brogdon was instrumental in growing the company from three facilities to120 and revenues from $1 million to more than $350 million. He was responsible for listing the shares on the NASDAQ and then on the NYSE. RCA was purchased by Sun Healthcare in1998 for more than $350 million.
From 1994 to 1998, Brogdon was also Chairman of Contour Medical (Contour), a NASDAQ-listed company in the medical supply business. Brogdon, in conjunction with RCA, purchased a majority of the shares of Contour Medical from its founders and grew the company from $5 million in sales to $35 million through two acquisitions and an increased customer base. Contour primarily sold medical supplies to the nursing home industry. Under Brogdon, the shares were admitted to the NASDAQ Small Cap. Contour was also sold to Sun Healthcare in June of1998. In 1998 and 1999, Brogdon served as Chairman of NewCare Health Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed company in the assisted living and nursing home business.
Since 1999, Brogdon has been an owner and the manager of Brogdon Family, LLC, which owns nursing homes, assisted living facilities, restaurants and commercial real estate. Brogdon is a founding board member of the Georgia Coastal Alzheimer's Association, which serves 13 South Georgia counties. Brogdon is also on the advisory board of SCAD Atlanta, (Savannah College of Art & Design).
