JAY MCCANN, PARTNER & FOUNDER
Jeffrey "Jay" McCann is a Co-Founder of the J. Christopher's concept and today is the Operating Partner and President of J. Christopher's Management which operates as a licensee of J. Christopher's. He is also a Partner in J. Christopher's Restaurants, LLC, a collection of casual dining restaurants serving breakfast, brunch and lunch based in Atlanta, GA. The concept has 20 existing restaurants and will open seven more in 2008.
Over the past 12 years, McCann has fine tuned the J. Christopher's brand by retaining dedicated management and staff, upgrading the menu, maintaining low costs and focusing on friendly service.
During his 35 years in the restaurant industry, McCann has dealt with all aspects of full-service dining including hourly and management functions such as menu development, training, construction, site development, marketing and advertising.
McCann has a history of turning around struggling units in national chains such as Chili's, Steak and Ale, Hooters and Malone's, an Atlanta-based restaurant group. His approach is hands on, leading by example. He has consistently increased sales, maximized profits and created positive morale at every job.
McCann learned about the breakfast segment of food service industry through a six-month training program at Le Peep, where he increased same unit sales over 30 percent.
An industrial engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame has served McCann well, even in the restaurant business, as he helps to design J. Christopher's restaurants.
